Would you agree with me if I say that the greatest gift that you can receive is something that… you give? Everyone of us is blessed with the ‘Gift of the Magi’ to share when the right time calls for it. The beauty of such gift is that you don’t know what exactly it is until the situation asks you to unwrap the box of generosity, no matter how big or small, that can make a huge difference in this world. Most of the time, we don’t even know just how strong the impact we have made – especially when we are reaching out to total strangers who needed our help and for some good reason, serendipity has put us right at the exact moment so we can answer that call and give it our best shot.

You don’t need superpowers to become a hero these days. In fact, at one point, we’ve enountered those ordinary folks who added a little ‘extra’ something to our lives with their extraordinary acts of kindness. I can cite a whole lot of examples here that can fill up this entire post, not to mention, the entire Library of Congress… and we may not even have reached half of these amazing stories that many of us forget, given how busy we are each day.
Let me share with you the story of Abby, Fourerr’s Customer Support Lead, and her family who are all taking part in the Act for Peace Ration Challenge right now – to help support refugees, in the conflict-stricken Thai-Burma border, survive and become more self-sufficient. Just a small act of eating the same rations as a refugee for a week will help them raise enough money to pay for food rations for an entire year. They have made that pledge, and you too can help them fulfill this promise.
Point is, you don’t have to be rich to become a hero. We all have a hero inside waiting to be unleashed if we allow ourselves to see beyond the mundane and realize that we are all part of a bigger world – that we are all connected by some invisible string pulling us all to do extraordinary things.

I am taking this chance to call you to let loose that hero inside, to feel better about yourself, to be happier, strive to do better… and see that the world can be a better place. You have the power to move mountains and it starts with a single step..
